I had to take time to tell all the forum members what a great time I had at Cinesea and how happy I was to finally make it. All you members that are thinking of going and haven't been able to make it yet, should double your efforts to make it in April 2014. Meeting all the fellow collectors and dealers was terrific. A great bunch of guys. There were 5 projectors running at the same time and it was a hoot. There was plenty of great deals on film and related equipment. All kinds of film talk and knowledge to be had. The hotel is superb. The view of the ocean from the deck is breathtaking. If you leave the sliding door open you can fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean surf. There are 2 breakfast places within walking distance and great resteraunts for dinner just a short drive away. The boardwalk is a great walk and loaded with shops for the ladies should they decide to come. I can't wait to get to the next one. So lets help support this great event and our hobby which we all enjoy. Come one, come all to Cinesea April 2014. You'll be glad you did! [Eek!]

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Pat,
You summed up the event very well, It was great to meet you too, and it's only by spreading the word again and again that we will get more folks to come.

Start planning now, people, no excuses [Big Grin]

When you come to an event like this, you get to know people on a whole different level.

For example at Dinner Saturday night (and I mean after we realized we'd forgotten to bring Claus!), we were talking about the expected stuff: "Elmo, Blackhawk, Eumig, Derann, Kodak, blah, blah, blah..." when all of a sudden the subject turned to families, jobs and lives: the more human things that may not really even belong here.

-and yes, Gary Crawford went back to the hotel and got Claus!

One of the things I really like about Ocean Holiday is the fact that the rooms are all conveniences. I always try to bring some food with me and cook at least one meal for myself: save a couple of bucks, be a little creative, have some relaxing moments. This time it was some nice beef stew over egg noodles. The glass of wine and the beach outside the balcony just completed the whole thing!

I actually have a couple of T-shirts I wear almost nowhere else but Cinesea. Both of them are bright yellow (Kodak, Blackhawk), and I usually dress in a lot more subdued colors than these.

The last time I sent a roll of 100D to Dwayne's I tacked on an order for their "Kodachrome: 1935 to 2010" shirt and set it aside for last weekend.

Bright and early Saturday I took it out of its plastic packaging to go downstairs and it still smelled of the printing process.

"Oh great! I'm about to enter a room full of vintage film smelling of vinegar!"

-a less honorable guy would have used this to lower some prices! [Wink]
