A few years ago I bought "The Quatermass Xperiment" and many others from D.J.H when he was closing his hire library. Most did not have the original boxes. So now I have a little spare time I thought I would make some box artwork for them. Because I have put the films on large spools I have used A4 size, but also made them the same size as a 600ft card box

 -

The front artwork is more or less complete, with just a little tweaking to do.

The spine does not look right though.

The bottom part is not finished I'll put a couple of stills and perhaps a little more info. Its also made to fold over 2x600ft boxes.

Technical 300dpi CYMK for print.

Your views please good and bad!

I think it looks great... in fact, I would take a high quality scan when you are done since my print is just in boring plain white boxes too. Thanks in advance!

Brian, Almost finished the cover. Will the A4 size be OK? It just needs a little cutting off each side to fit a 600ft card box. I've made it to wraparound my box which is a 1200ft box.

When its done I'll post the link here link.

That size will be fine. Can't wait to see the final product. Thanks!

Here are the covers I made for "The Quatermass Experiment"
The first one is for one reel, mine fitted onto a 1200ft reel.

 -

High res version of the single reel on my site The Reel Image (UK).

 -

High res version for 2 x 600ft on The Reel Image (UK)

Both images are for printing onto A4 paper. I used photo matte paper about 105gsm. They do need trimming a little on each side.

The file size is almost 10meg.
