Looking through my old Movie Makers the December 1973 issue has an advert for Derann Films a Special Announcement soon to open 'Sponsored Film Library' offering a range of 'Free Loan Films in 8mm'
This is while I was still at school it would be about another three years before I bought a projector.
Does anyone recall them ever having free loan films?

Maurice, I remember Barry Wiles I had a number of films from him when I used to put on shows at the local residential home. It was quite a good selection.
I wonder if Derann passed the free loan library on to Barry?
While talking about sponsored free loan films can you remember before all the rubbish of daytime TV when BBC2 had the test card with really good music and every hour they put on trade test transmission films the free loan films from BP, Shell, ICI and many others.

The BBC were extolling their new colour service and BBC2 showed sponsored films in the afternoons. The best one which really showed off the colour TV was a Technicolor film from I.C.I. called "Paint".
