Yes, everything old is new again. I came across the link below for a company that plans to manufacture a Super 8 film cartridge for digital capture on your Super 8 Camera.

It should be pointed out that the camera linked above isn't a concept. It's already built and has a price and release date.

Why even bother with Kodak's nasty cartridge? A double super 8 camera would be so much more attractive for serious film makers.

Paul, they probably think that super 8 cartridges will always offer more choices of filmstocks as there is a more limited number of double super 8 cameras in circulation.

Correct. Isn’t it wonderful that we have such a wide range of 8mm film stocks to make our own motion pictures with and the industry can even deliver a new bit of pro kit as well. This is all excellent news for 8mm film makers and any addition to the new 8mm equipment market can only be a good thing for its longevity. Many pros are using Super 8 for that classic film look along with domestic film enthusiasts including myself. It’s always amazed me that more film collectors don’t pick up a camera and produce personalised openings for home cinema screenings as well.

The specs for this camera are amazing. Did any other super 8 camera have a registration pin? I do'nt think so. And an LCD viewfinder is a great idea. It would be great if this camera finds a market. I certainly hope so. I imagine that Pro8 would be looking to buy a few.
