Hey I am interested in picking one of these up. Now I know the general answer to the question of how much should I pay for one is as much as im prepared to [Smile] but in general what would be the going rate and a fair price for one? Also keen to know from others owners just how good they are. Many thanks in advance for any answers to my query [Smile]

I've used one for years I find it a well made lens.

How much to pay for one? Here's one to give you an idea.

At £117 I don't think that's over the top although one was sold earlier for an amazing £550 I think.

I've owned a number of different ones, including a Kowa, and my honest opinion is that the prices being asked for Kowas are over the top and based solely on the "mysticism" of the name.
Many of the cheaper makes and models perform just as well for projection purposes (I assume that most people on here are interested only in projection).
I have to look very hard to see any defect in the result from my own "home built" lens which I made from two glasses purchased from a spectacle lens maker some 59 years ago.... and that has a large chip on the front element!

William,

I sold my own Kowa 8Z which was in excellent condition for £150, so I would say that £120 to £150, considering the condition, is an average price.
