I recently purchased a film from one of our great forum members. The film is coming from Germany to the USA. How long does this normally take? The film was sent out on December 18th, 2013. I am starting to get worried about it. Any advice?

My experience with shipping from the USA to UK ranges from about three days to over ten weeks. The ten weeks was for a load of 16mm stuff on a slow boat to China!. That would have been mid to late 90's.

Some stuff I bought on ebay from Belgium took 3 weeks last year.

Adam, one month is not a normal delay.

Adam,

From the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website:

"Mail entering the United States from abroad first arrives at a U.S. Postal Service Sorting Facility. The Postal Service then sends packages to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for examination and to assess duty, if any is owed."

A film may arrive into the US quickly, however it can sit at the CBP for awhile.
