I was wondering. Is it possible on the Eumig Mark S802 Super 8 Sound Projector to swap the film gate, pressure pad, large sprocket and small sprocket for their Standard 8mm counterparts? Then Standard 8 silent film could run on this projector.

William
This projector has two claws. The dual gauge model has a single round claw to fit either gauge.
It would not be possible to do as you suggest.

Hello William It is possible as I have done the conversion on another 800 model machine. You could probably locate a set of drive sprockets for regular 8 and also a set of gates, but the biggest problem is the loop threading mechanism just below the gate. You in effect need to break a dual machine to get the regular 8 threading mech so will need to look for a non runner. Sound is going to be an issue for you as well as the basic 807 in main audio track only so you will have no sound for regular 8. You will also need to break off the upper of the two claw pins. But yes it is possible to convert the basic 807 to a regular 8mm silent machine (standard 8).

Lee's idea is quite sound but it does need a non-runner second projector for parts. And, then a lot of work.
It would much easier to buy a standard 8 silent projector.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I'd be much better off finding a Eumig Standard 8 or Dual 8 machine instead of trying to modify anything.
