Just purchased this norisound but no manual can anybody
Tell me what the red button on the front of projector does

This is a search button.

When the projector's main control knob is at the vertical position it can be switched to forward motion by pressure of the red button. It can be switched to single-frame intervals by a brief tap on the button.

When the central main control knob is at its first forward position sound recordings can be monitored.
