As a kid I remember Ernie Wise being a keen 8mm cine film maker and also president of one of the London cine clubs back then. Does anyone else recall any memories of this time I wonder?

Lee, Not sure which issue it was in, but Ernie was mentioned in John Wright's club call column along with a photo. I'll see if I can find it out. It shouldn't be too bad to find only about 20 to look at.

It's interesting looking back in the old Movie Makers & Film Making magazines. I find some of the releases quite surprising.

I would really like to have any old photo's of the shops that were around then.

Ernie Wise was President of Bourne End Cine Club in Buckinghamshire from the late 70s in succession to Rupert Davies the Maigret tv star. I was a member of Bourne End in the 80s and sat next to him at the BECC annual dinner one year. Kindly and interesting man

Thanks Paul. It’s nice to know that and likewise he was a really nice chap who I met a few times in my 1970's youth in entertainment. As a kid then I was fascinated he also had an interest in cine film making which probably also played a part in my own enthusiasm at the time along with numerous others.

I don't have this edition David, what machines are on test in this month? I do hope you come across the Beaulieu or Bauer test reports somewhere around where you are in the time scale of these magazines. [Smile]
