I think as we age its true to say we often slip into reminiscing mode and I am no exception to this. Over recent weeks I've been watching some of the Bond 8mm prints and I'm guessing they pretty much are the ideal subject/ content for the 8mm releases over the years what with the sprawling action scenes and all. I wonder what you have been particularly enjoying on 8mm recently?

Never Say Never Again from the Bond films, well edited, beautiful colour, and booming stereo soundtrack from Derann while pre-striped stock was very much still available and of course... Derek was still very much around!

For anything else, I have a recent nostalgic obsession with musicals, my favourite, just for the mo, is Hello Dolly!
Again, just love the overall standard of this print and the parade scene is simply just spectacular! Couple that with Streisand's impeccable voice, this is HCH for me.

I also have a German UFA cutdown of "A Star is Born" which has had quite a few runs recently. I purchased it, quite simply, just to witness "Evergreen" (in English language BTW)on Super 8mm.
Just a stunning piece of music as far as I am concerned and have loved the track since first heard in 1976, simply beautiful!

Last film I enjoyed was probably The Matrix, 35mm but hoping to see a couple of 16mm films soon

Didn't know you did 35 Vidar. I also like the Never say never cut down which flows so well and crisp.

I do Regular 8, Super 8, 9.5mm, 16mm and 35mm ... The other formats will be too much for me I believe. No room or money for 70mm and those 17.5mm/28mm (or something) rarely come up

Overall the best gauge must be 16mm, quality of a good print is very nice, though 35mm beats it hands down, but it's not as space consuming as 35mm. And a feature is usually two or three reels
