The framing knob on my projector is inoperative. Something has apparently become disconnected inside but I can't seem to spot it. How do I fix it?

Hello Jim. Welcome to this forum. I would suggest you to give some more informations such as the make and the model of your projector.

Hello Jim,
if I remember right, there excist 2 modification.
a) has framing knob at bottom on right hand side (towards screen)
b) frame adjustment is done by turning of knurled cylinder (nut)at hinge of lens holder.
Most customer have problem to recognise framer at type b)
Maybe your problem is solved now, too.
regards
Josef

Example a) describes the framing arrangement on my projector. The knob is near the bottom of the front (screen end) of projector. Further investigation shows the shaft entering the projector from the knob has a cam at the end of the shaft, the cam adjusts the aperature plate up and down. This cam has come loose from the shaft and just spins on the shaft when the knob is turned. I do have an earlier model of this projector with the same framing mechanism. Maybe the solution is to take the good part from the old projector and put it on the newer machine if I can get it out. Does anybody have a better idea? Perhaps a way to get the cam attached to the shaft?

Thanks to those who considered my issue. I have resolved the problem by canabalizing an older projector for the needed part and installing the part in the newer projector.
