Have any of the members ever heard of a company called Cinema Eight? I received a film the other day and it was in a generic box with that company description on it.From the looks of the box I would say it goes back to the 70's.Thanks!

I remember seeing their products advertised in the back of collectors' tabloids, but never saw a catalog. I wonder if they were yet another small "in-the-backyard-shed" company specializing in public domain titles.

They produced a huge catalog...assembling the films from castle, ken and others. They, as far as I could tell, did not release films themselves. I once ordered film from them and it took forever ...weeks...to arrive. I realized they probably had NO stock on hand, but simply obtained what was ordered from the film companies or some other outside source.

They actually did have a small amount of their own releases as I have one of their Color ones. One time I ordered one of their B&W releases and waited... and waited... and waited. I finally called them because I had sent payment when making the order. I asked if the order had been lost. After waiting on the phone while they checked, they found my order. However, it took a few weeks for it to arrive because it obviously was not in stock and they had the print made to order. It must have been a Special Rush Order but the quality was excellent. I still have the two prints today. Only the Color print has their Company Name/Logo in a Title Card.

I had the FIEND WITHOUT A FACE super 8 feature from Cinema Eight. Interestingly, unlike the Mountain print, the gore scenes at the end with the creatures being shot are un-edited....
