Had a reel bad week this week in real home cinema heaven! My Bauer T610 has finally misbehaved for the very first time since owning it and could really do with alittle help please from fellow Bauer"studio class" owners. I am now finding it difficult (and on some films impossible) to frame the film correctly and a substantial increase in noise levels from the shutter and claw regions have emerged making it uncharacteristically sound pretty much like every other super 8 projector I have ever heard or owned! I know this is almost certainly due to wear in the nylon cam and follower assembly so I am asking fellow owners throughout the world for a little advice please for obtaining spare parts (either from Germany or elsewhere throughout the world) and also advice for obtaining the set up tool that allows the correct claw depth to be obtained at 0.9mm and 1.2mm in and out. Any help from fellow forum members would be very gratefully received!! I have other stereo machines but none like my fully fit Bauer so quite desperate to obtain the necessary parts. Thank You all in advance.

Hey Andrew-

I also have the BAUER T610. I have not experienced any problems like that as of yet.

The good news is that I hear that new parts are available for this projector. The bad news is, I don't know where to get them [Frown] .

I will be checking around and I'll post back here if I find them.

James.

Andrew
You could try Wittner. They speak excellent English.

Thanks Maurice, though the problem I,ve found with Wittners is that everything has to be done through electronic mail, no phone numbers given etc. What I would much prefer is tob able to speak to someone to ensure I am ordering ALL the parts required to make a permanant successful fix. There is an expert in Germany called Nico Scholvien but again, though I have purchased Bauer items from him in the past ie spare drive belts etc etc, I have no telephone number for him. Also going back to Wittners, I have searched through their Bauer spares advertised but the "Greifer" etc isn't one of them. They tend to do sound heads, spindle hubs and rotary knob but no shutter cam parts, though these are known to be a consumable wear item over prolonged periods of time no matter how well serviced or lubed. Any help contacting Nico would certainly be appreciated, or others like him thanks.

He has them already Maurizio.

They are available for free from Edwin if you purchase any product from his online store AND you are prepared to fit them immediately and trial them for him before he puts them to market officially.

The reason for this fantastic generous offer from Edwin is because he wants to see how these parts fair "in the field" over time on a variety of studio Bauer models.

I feel the results will vary wildly dependent on the standard of the refit and the resulting set up as well as choices of lubricants for cam and felt pad and finally, dependent on how well the set up is maintained.

Judging by the standard of the spool hubs that I received from Edwin recently from his 3D printing process, it would appear that these new parts are manufactured to a decent standard of tolerance.

If all of the above work is carried out to a professional standard, with a high quality of workmanship demonstrated throughout, then there should be no problems with these parts so long as the polymer composition is as good if not better than original design spec when considering it's purpose.
