Hi looking for an instruction manual for a Silma 8mm projector and maybe an enthusiast to set it up in the Warwickshire area, who can visit, I'd be happy to pay of course! Found projector and films of grandparents in loft, would like to view to see if any good to transfer to DVD for great grand children! Any info or help re either of the above would be gratefully received!

Hopefully someone close to your area will be able to help you out with this Dawn. If not, just have a practice getting used to operating the PJ with a cheap Super 8 film from e bay or the likes.
Then once you are experienced at operating the machine it will be safe for you to project your special family films.
there are many professional outlets that offer transfer of film to DVD etc. Just peruse the net and you will find an outlet somewhere near to where you are I would have thought.

Hi Dawn, where in Warwickshire are you ?, I know the area, but I have satnav too. Gauge film in Dudley west midlands will be able to help you transfer the film to dvd, you will find him on Ebay. I suppose the obvious question would be, do you know for sure its super 8 and not standard 8, as this would not run through that projector if it were the later.
