2 months ago, I watched Captain America solely to determine if I wanted to purchase a digest print (I am not as adventurous as those who bought it "blind" without seeing the full feature). Since the listing was in my latest Reel Image flyer (and this would be my first new release digest in 37 years), I decided to capture that old feeling and submit my request by mail order.
If I may mix my metaphors, it takes two to tango in this trip down memory lane, and this is where Steve Osborne comes in. Mr. Osborne sent me a postcard confirming my order and I kept that card in my coat pocket so I could look at it from time to time and anticipate delivery. I did not request a tracking number because that would be a cheat and deny me the pleasure of peeking out at my doorstep each day.
I paid for my print with a check (it's a sort of note one writes out authorizing your bank to pay someone money), and the print arrived on the Friday afternoon of a 3 day weekend (what could be more perfect?). With Steve Osborne's cooperation, a part of me was a kid again for a few weeks and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
