By chatting with a Belgian collector last Sunday at a local film fair, I was told that Film Office printed their films on a 4 copies at a time base. But their optic was set to give the best results for the two central strips. As a result, quality varies from one film to another. If you're lucky, you have one of the two good quality central copies, otherwise you have a lower result. There is no mark on the film to indicate the position of the film when it was manufactured. Maybe other collectors were aware ot that, for me it was a new information.
