Goodmorning ,

If your are a Beaulieu 708 EL "MONO" Owner's, this survey is for you.
("STEREO" ownrer's are not concerned with).

A) Power up the machine and set Speed Mode selector from "Fix" to "Variable".
B) Run the machine in "Silent" mode (NO FILM LOADED).
C) Actuating "Variable" knob from Mini to Max, Record or evaluate the effect
D) Do you observe (or ear) a vatiation for both motors (Main & Capstan) OR only Capstan (observing External Capstan shaft) OR only Main Motor.
E) Run the machine in "Sound" Mode (NO FILM LOADED): Same thing than C), D)
F) Is the Max speed observed upper than 25 Fps (means 27 Fps) for both modes ?
G) Is the Min Speed observed closed to 21 Fps

H) If readable, report BEAULIEU Serial Number (Bottom plate Lable)

Thanks Andrew,

Upon the survey result, as I have some ideas concerning this matter, I will study how it is possible to bring some modifications (Simple and cheap, to reach the level of the STEREO Regulation configuration).

I am comparing the "Driving" philosophy between STEREO (Which is working pretty good, ..... nothing to add to the system) and the MONO which seems to have a lack somewhere.

Also, as you get the REGULATION schema for 708 EL MONO,(and if you have time in front of you) check how works the "Variable" mode, and let me know your analyse conclusion.
