I have a beautiful Keystone K108 but the reel spindles do not turn which suggests to me that there is a belt(s) problem. Does anyone know how to do a belt change? I'd rather not attack this blindly if I can get some advice. Thanks in advance!! Denny

I sold mine quite some time ago, but I seem to recall it had a clutch. Could it be you need to engage it? Have you used this projector previously and it was working then? Welcome to the forum!

Hi Denny,

Do you have a picture of the 8mm projector.

Anymay, due to the age of these machine, there is a high probability some belts (if rubber made) failled out.
In this case, you can fix the problem using "O" rings (Looking for Hydraulic spare "O" ring, last a long time), no doubt you 'll find what you need by diversity of sizes.

Also, take the opportunity to oil bearings (Thin oil), clean also the friction couplings (Taking pictures as necessary during disassembly can be helpful).

let us know

Phil

My sincere thanks to each of you for taking the time to reply. I'll try to cover your questions in one go. I have been using the projector in a digitizing project and it has worked beatifully. It suddenly stopped all reel movement without a sound (was in projector mode) while the lamp and motor continued normally. All levers, including the clutch were properly set and I had made sure all 7 marked oil ports were lubed with watch oil. My problem is disassembly; I have removed all external screws but still cannot get the motor, shields, and covers off. It is being held by something that seems to be in the central body, near the shaft end of the motor and for the life of me I cannot tell or see where the obstruction is. Everything on or around the motor can be moved as a unit a small amount in all directions. Because this movement has caused misalignment of hidden parts (?), I seriously doubt I can get it reassembled without completing the tear-down! Prayers are joyfully accepted! Denny
