They're interesting looking machines, I like the fact you can sync with them and the optional external synchroniser. What's the difference between the 1000 and 2000 models?

Only the 2000 Stuart.
A rare beast now Stuart. The few that are around like the one Thijs has restored, has needed a fair bit of work nowadays to get it back to working condition.
1000 has 600ft capacity and no sync capabilities for a start Stuart.

Yes, like any other D.C. electronically driven machine, an additional motor controlling circuit board would be required to be able to gain control over it. The 2000 has this already.
It would be no harder to control than say a Bauer T610 or Beaulieu machine.

I have the 1000 model which is quite compact partly due to the fact that it does not have an internal speaker, (neither does the 2000.) The supplied external speaker can be used in three ways, bolted underneath the projector, sited a couple of feet away for projecting on the small monitor screen attached to its side, or placed in any suitable position as required. It's quiet running, good sound, and a 150 watt lamp which has low and high settings.

If youre looking to turn any model into a pulse sync capable machine Stuart, it is as easy to look at look at similar electronically controlled machines that are perhaps available now in far greater numbers, than it would be to attempt to control a Visacoustic 1000 that are very thin on the ground nowadays.

As Mr John Armer confirmed over on another forum very recently, much to do with overall picture quality and sharpness on a Studio model, is much to do with the correct pressure plate setting on these (as well as other contributing factors).
From the ones i have had through my hands, not one was set correctly when i first looked at them.
Id be very interested to hear the comments from someone who has owned both models from brand new with these two before a true judgement could be made.

Hah hah don't worry Andrew, it's a deleted double-post. I seem to get a lot of them when browsing this site via mobile.
