I was totally overjoyed to find that Red Foxes "70's commercial reel" was reprinted by Derannm, when they acquired a lot of Red Fox's negatives, and on L.P.P. film stock (where Red Fox printed them on quicky fade eastman originally).

The one I have was actually reel 2 of the two, and it was part of Derann's "Movieola" series. It's number is "M347"

Now, my question is ...

This Derann release was one of two "70's commercial reels" that Red Fox released. Being that this was "M347", did Derann also re-release the other "70's commercial reel", as well?

If so, would it have been "M346" or perhaps, "M348"?

Anybody who has the old catalogs, could you please find out for me, as, if the other commericla reel was released as well, i would LOVE to start a serach for that one as well.

Sincerely

OSI

Assuming you mean advert reels when you say commercial M371 sounds possible 2 Pepsi adverts, "quiet please" Butterkist, Spitting Image Pet Hates, Coming soon form Redstone Cinemas, Now Showing, coming attractions, Sneak preview from Showcase cinema, a feature presentation from RKO Theatres, Oscar nights etc.

That's from the "Little Mermaid" cover catalogue.

Nope, that's not it, but here' a list of some of the commercials that were on the reel ...

Cat Food "moist meals" ( I think)
RC Cola
Mcdonalds
Crest toothpaste (bickering old men)
A commercial that deals with the Olympics (Olympic swimmer)
Tide detergent
Old Millwakee
Car commercial
Charmin Tissue (Mr. Whipple)

That's not all of them, but that's enuf, I think, to maybe ring some bells for someone out there.

Like I said, I already have number 2, so I'm curious as to whether Derann released the other one. This is assuming that Derann recived both 70's commercial reel negatives.

I can't be 100% sure, but as someone who has bought quite a few Derann advertisement reels, I took an interest in this type of release, and although I was aware that they were offering a reel of USA ads from the 70s, I don't recall there ever being a choice of two different ones. Maybe Derann had both negatives and released one, but then decided that sales did not justify another.

You might well be right, Adrian and, if that is the case, I'll just have to luck out, sometime in the future, at finding a largely unfaded Red Fox print and then storing it well, unless Red FOx might have just done a low fade print of this title I'm looking for, but I have never seen one.

.... and, quite frankly, these don't come up too often, there are not a lot of them to pick thru.

Osi - is this the rare 'other' Red Fox reel you're thinking of? Colour doesn't look bad in the screenshots, albeit probably not LPP.
