This Eumig I have is pristine except that the sound wavers faster and slower like it's drunk. I've been through the whole machine, and can't figure out what would cause this?

Also it's the most noisy of my machines, and only while running in reverse there is an alarming chatter/clanking which I also cannot figure out. Would these be related problems? Are they somehow a result of the flywheel or the motor pivot?

As mentioned I've been through the whole machine, the rubber discs and the rubber wheel that engages the flywheel are in great condition and have been cleaned with special rubber cleaner and rejuvinator.

Side note: I happened to find a sad little Eumig S710D at a thrift shop for $10. It was SO dirty and chipped up I thought it was a parts pile and I was only going to strip the N/S8 cogs and small parts from it. But it cleaned up well and runs smoother than any machine I have! The sound is much louder and more clear!

All help is appreciated.

The projector could now be around forty years old and its lubrication has probably dried out.
Even when in fine working mode it is recommended to run the motor for a few minutes to warm up before engaging with the mechanism.
