OK, I'm still trying to tinker with this ELMO projector, and recently, the optical sound has been getting a lot of static that builds and builds and meanwhile, the optical sound output has been very low.

Is it just a matter of the switxch or dust in front of the optical sound "lense" or what?

most curious.

Hi, OSI , I see that you are having a problem with the optical sound on you GS1200. It is a common problem. I had the same! Try cleaning the photo diode. If that does not work than replace sound lens. I had to replaced sound lens it took care of the problem! AND the photo diode. That is usually a problem when they go bad! So let know how you make out! OR you can call me at 610-272-3205. Thanks and good luck!

I may give you a call in the near future here. I idn't know that an optical lense would ever have to be replaced. I am wondering, however, if it might just be an issue with the actual switch from optical to magnetic sound and dust in the switch.

I'll try that too. Thank you for you're advice, however, much appreciated. [Smile]

OSI , I REPLACED THE OPTICAL LENS AND THE PHOTO DIODE. THEY DO GO BAD! I CHECKED MY INVERTORY DONT HAVE MANY LEFT IN STOCK! SO TRY CLEANING THE PHOTO DIODE WITH ALCOHOL. SEE IF THAT WORKS! NOW THE LENS WHAT HAPPENS IS THE BACK OF LENS BUILDS UP WITH OXIDE. AND BLOCKS THE LIGHT. AND INTERFERES WITH THE SOUND! THATS A COMMON PROBLEM. GOOD LUCK! LEON NORRIS

I didn't know that (about the build up of OXIDE), but it makes sense! I'll take a Q-yip and some alcohol to it! many thanks!
