Does anyone have this Castle short in colour and sound? I do expect some fade, but would love the original box. Please email me with your price.

Hello - This was only released silent in Super and Std 8/Color, some of the CASTLE travelogues didn't sell well, and were not relegated to later sound versions, such as STOCKHOLM OLD & NEW - Conversely, I'm looking for both SAN JUAN and LONDON LANDMARKS in S8Color-Sound - Cheers, Shorty

Hi Shorty,

I have both of those in colour and sound, but they are part of my travelogue collection I'm afraid. I will keep an eye out for you.

Rats, I just let a silent NZ Splendour go as I was waiting for a sound copy! It was a threatrical short that was popular in the 1960's and was picked up by Universal for US release and then Castle for home use. It was made by the NZ film board.

David, I checked the last CASTLE catalogue release (1977), and New Zealand Splendor was not available in a color/sound edition, only Std 8 silent B&W and Super 8 Silent Color - I have the Std 8 Silent version - On both SAN JUAN and LONDON LANDMARKS, I could use the original boxes on both so if you're of a mind, I'll buy the boxes from you - My travleogue collection is complete except for DENMARK, A FAIRYTALE LAND, again in Std or Super 8, no sound as this didn't warrant 'sound' release, low sales, usually, also ROAD TO ROME (Which was a Super 8 Sound edition) - Keep in touch here and Cheers from Shorty - Oh, if you happen to know, I need a WALTON (OFFICIAL) S8Sound 200' of 'Beauty And The Bath', and A&C comedy release

Shorty, I would like to keep the boxes, but I'll keep an eye out for you. Even when the colour on the film fades I still like looking at the boxes on the shelf!

I once bought the 50ft Disney ride films for Haunted House, Pirates and Jungle Cruise. I had them on display for over 10 years empty. One day I was going through reels of film that I have never run (still have piles) and found all three joined together on one 200ft reel under another title!

I am sure I did not buy them together, but I think it was in another lot from the same seller years later. They have been reunited regardless.
