I might be wrong but they are all usual Ken Films or Walt Disney Home Movies which can be red/pink by now. For the GBP 150 starting price it is very expensive. Especially when the seller has very low feedback.

ps: one thing that make me believe they are digest, because there is a reel by the title "The Aristocats Meet the Scat cat". There is nothing such title but 200' digest from Walt Disney Home Movies.

My 2 cents though

Mark, with a bit of analyze I can say my personal justification as follows:

1. The seller says "This is not my personnel collection but I have inherited". This statement is a disclaimer that he knows nothing about the films he is selling. He is not a collector. He will say "I don't know" when we ask further with a deeper question.

2. The front reel with B/W cover (may be photocopied?) does look like a Sound of Music cover. From the picture it can be easily said that it is 400'. The seller says there is Sound of Music 1, Sound of Music 2, and Sound of Music 3. If these 3 reels are the exact same reel size, what can we say other than 3 * Ken Film of the same title. If this is correct, then we will end up with 3 reels that is guaranteed to have faded (I never found Sound of Music from Ken Film in good colors though). The Ken Films version is only worth £5 ...or even Barry of Independent 8 offers this for free (still no one take it [Wink] )

3. By using comparison study between the reels, I can say the other reels behinds are 200' feet and some even smaller (100'?). There are 400' on the right hand.

4. They are not in original box and artwork anymore so less interesting and have less re-sale value too.

5. Since they are no longer in original box, the owner has spooled them on Gepe/Bonum reels with the case which is known to be heavy wight. The buyer will end up in astronomical shipping cost, knowing Royal Mail has never been cheap, due to the total weight.

6. Having seen the titles that seller has provided, the Disney films are definitely NOT feature films, because they are well knows as the alternate title for digest (plus the reel size too make this to be obvious).

My 2 cents though.

But last but not least, there is another auction with more interesting titles and lower starting price reported by other member in this forum [Big Grin]
