I've got a Sankyo Stereo projector for sale on ebay, and it has a f1.4 15-25mm Zoom lens, my question is this, is this a long throw lens akin to the Elmo f1.4, as I know that the standard lens with these machines was an f1.3, so could you knowledgable forum members let me know, as I have had a question on ebay about this lens.

Jean-Marc,
You may be right, I have never said I'm an expert on lenses, that's why I'm asking, but as an f1.3 was supposed to be standard, I just wondered what forum members thought of this lens, but when I come to think of it the 15-25mm size reminds me of a 16mm 3/4 to 1 inch lens, so perhaps it's a wide angle zoom lens instead.

The zoom range is fairly normal, my Schneider 1:1.2 lens goes from 15.5-28mm as well (and the Elmo 1.3 goes from 15-25mm also). The standard lens supplied with the Sankyo 800 is quite nice and performs just about the same as the Elmo 1.3, despite it's slightly slower f-stop rating. (In the end these numbers aren't 100% reliable, differences do exist between various lenses.)

Barry, 25 - 50mm is a long throw lens, 12.5 - 25 the short throw. Your 15 - 25 doesnt give quite as wide a picture as the Elmo.
