If they use unusual mains leads why not contact Bolex direct.

It this what you are looking for? I see that a lot of these projectors are advertised as having no power cord.

John
Glad to be of help.
Here's another item which you may find useful. It's something which I use and can recommend. It will save removing the German plug and replacing it with a standard UK 13 amp flat pin plug.

Here's another link to help you date your projector.

Maurice. Thankyou.
Only today I took apart a beyond repair (by me anyway) an 18-5 standard 8mm machine and to get to the socket is a major disasembly. Ive no doubt it could be done in the hands of a pro but I think this is the way forward.

It arrived today and fits like a glove. I have swapped the two pin with a UK three pin Red to earth, Black to live and grey to Neutral.
I have replaced both sets of belts (three on each machine) with same size O rings I got from my local handyman stores (£2.40 for six).

I plugged said lead into each projector and im pleased to say that they both run purrfectly...I say that because both machines just purr along in both 18 and 5 frames per second.

Im thinking of upgrading the bulbs but I will have to do a bit of homework on that.I will have a look here first.

Thanks again Maurice [Big Grin]

Glad it all works. Connecting red to the earth terminal certainly goes against one's instincts, but I can confirm you are correct.
Black...Live
Grey....Neutral
Red.....Earth

Hi John, can you give me more details of a lamp conversion for the 18-5?
