Star Wars Original Cinema Advert
Super 8 colour sound

This is a new release from Derann Films just in time for the Northern Film Collectors Convention.

It comes on a 50ft spool and a superb spoof on Star Wars and even features our very own Darth Vader in the lead. Darth is at a meeting with the Orange Film Funding Board and is presenting his idea for a film. All the fun of Star Wars legend has been employed in this promo including the Jedi mind manipulation tricks.

Nicely presented in a colour box it is going to prove popular with Star Wars fans and collectors. The print quality is outstanding as is the sound quality from Derann, thus dispelling any question about the sound striping service which in this case is perfect.

I would have no hesitation of marking this new release A with A for sound quality as well which is extremely crisp and clear.

Well done Derann for yet another 8mm release which I know is going to be very popular indeed.

This is a great release indeed. I've had it for some months on 35, and it's always been a crowd pleaser.

I somehow missed seeing this if it was screened on the Sunday. It's unfortunate that it wasn't included in the Saturday night show, as that would probably have boosted sales. And surprisingly, it's not mentioned in the latest Derann newsletter that arrived today.

I wondered approximately when the ad was made, and what is the price of this release?

Was this ad made

This advert was made about four or five years ago.

It is part of an ongoing series made by Orange to remind people to turn off their mobile phones before the feature film starts.

They always have a well known film theme. Carrie Fisher has appeared in one, and another in the series had the characters from "The Lord of the Rings"

The latest version has Macaulay Culkin in a send up of "Home Alone".

Adrian.
I think I am right that this one was a special release for the Blackpool bash and was selling like hot cakes due to the Star Wars anniversary thing happening. I nearly missed out myself, but think Derann still had a couple of copies left when packing up at the end of the day.

It may be worth giving young Ged a ring to see if he has one left, you may be lucky.

The release year of the ad was 2005 in the Cinema.

"Your Jedi mind tricks won't work on me. Around here I'm the emperor, this is my galaxy and in my galaxy I need product... "Join you - never!"... "Dun dun dun dun-da dun, dun-da dun, dun dun dun dun-bye-bye Darth Vader... I love that song."

Best wishes.
