I have a B&H 2590 with a cracked worm drive. Can this worm drive be removed and replaced with a worrm drive from a 1500 series B&H?

Dan, I think the dimensions are the same, but it would be best to use a known good new gear, the type that several dealers world-wide sell. The last thing you would want after taking the machine down to its heart and rebuilding it is for another crack to appear.

In fact it is such a pain of a job, another good used projector is generally a better bet - avoid green and buy charcoal bodied projectors.

Thanks, David, that is wise advise. I have never replaced one and have been told it is a real pain. For years I have bought another used projector when the gears crack, but now I have accumulated a coral of machines with cracked gears( I didn't crack them all). Some came with film purchases and buy outs. Now it is time to start refurbishing some and keeping a few for parts.
