I am having a problem with the Eiki 3585, The sound lamp is on, and it generally takes until 75 feet of film has passed through the gate until you can hear any sound. Is this a problem with the sound lamp or
amplifier and how can this be corrected?

Also the pressure plate is loose and it appears that the spring clip
that is shaped as a "Z" does not firmly secure the post which stabilizes the
aperture plate and it creates some play in the gate.

The aperture plate seems sloppy and
I fear that this may spoil the film as it runs in the gate.

There can be several causes of the sound problem. When it does come on, is it low and then up to volume or does it snap on?

Try this test. With no film threaded, turn the projector to run and then slide a card between the sound lamp and the sound drum. You should hear a "thump" each time you do that. If that's the case the problem is not with the lamp or amp, but rather with the film threading.

As for the aperature plate problem, are you talking about the side pressure spring that pushes in on the sound track side or the spring that holds the plate on the posts that move it in and out of position?
