Why do the belts inside the spool arms of Elf / Eiki projectors break?

Is it inferior materials. or aren't they expected to have a long life?

Are there now, perhaps, better quality replacements belts being manufactured?

i have belts for elf motor and arm i can post or see me at blackpool
