Hi Guys,

I was given an Eiki SL-0 a couple months back. Its in pretty clean and seems to have really low hours on it. It was from a small library and they were getting rid of it. I can imagine, its been sitting on a shelf for years unused.

The projector works well once I start it, but it binds up consistently on start up if the film is ready to advance once you turn it on. If I turn the motor till the mech has completed its pull, its starts up fine. If the mech binds up, I have to turn the motor a tad to help it and it starts just fine. The picture is steady after that.

I've been reading about the Cam Tank and thinking it just needs to be taken apart and cleaned fairly well. I've tried oiling it, but it still is consistent. Any thoughts? Have you had this happen?

I also have a problem with the amp, even with it properly grounded, I'm still getting a slight hum. Is it possible that the caps dried out? They look to be modern caps. The hum is present in the speaker and the aux out.

Thanks

Bernie
