Are these lenses for a modern Bell & Howell 16mm projector? They don't appear to be.

they most certainly are not [Frown]

... However, this is the same breed of lens I bought from Omer on ebay. What I mean is, the barrel is the only obstacle to keep them from fitting, say, an EIKI for instance. If you fashion a ring barrel through which to slip these babies in and mount them on any projector of your chosing, you're golden [Smile]

!!! It's the f 1.2 that was a selling point for me. A final sweet spot, these don't appear to be fixed focus lenses. I didn't even know 16mms had focusing barrels ( their mm is from 19- 32). I hope I'm not getting pumped over crap lol... Please advice, Maurice, and hope you're having a great weekend... Cheers [Big Grin]

Are`nt they 8mm lenses. I`d guess looking at them you would get roundey shadows in the corners.

I there is another one 20mm to 32mm, or block of 2 from the same seller. I`ve had these and slightly better but still not great.

As Mark says, they are probably lenses for 8mm bearing in mind their zoom range. If so, they may not cover all the image from a 16mm frame.
My advice is not to touch them.
Proper zoom lenses for 16mm projectors come at a large price as they are quite desirable, however, their range is more than the lenses quoted.
For instance, I have in front of me an Isco-Optic Vario-Kiptaron MC lens for an Eiki/Elf, it's an f1.3 with a range of 35-65mm. It came with a projector so I don't know what it would cost, but I assume it would be in excess of £100 GBP. ($188 Canadian dollar.)

The add has a limited description, but from the picture I would also say that these lenses are for 8mm, so, as said before, there is a risk they don't cover the whole 16 mm frame.

Its funny you do sometimes get as small low MM lenses like 5/8th etc or even 1/2 inch which are proper 16mm ones with as small a rear lens but they work better but obviously not great.

They wouldn't fit my B/H machines. The rear of the lens is far too small. Must be 8mm.

Awesome back n forths guys,

I totally understand the smaller lenses that don't cover the entire 16mm frame and hence give more circular pics. I rookie mistook one and it cost me dearly years back. But I hope I have learned from my mistake by presenting exhibits one and two below.The first one shows the screen you get with one of these lenses when fitted in a 16mm machine ( like, say an EIKI SSL-O, my projectors). The second one shows the obvious difference in lens sizes between a stock EIKI and one of these B&H lenses. This one doesn't however, have variable focusing and us fixed at 1 inch, f 1.6.Your thoughts [Smile]

I wouldn't be pleased with a poor coverage on my screen like your pic shows, however, it might look better with an actual film being run.
BUT. The main thing here is that you are, I assume, happy with the lens in use.

I couldn't be happier with it! Sure, it isn't a perfect rectangle but once into the movie and absorbed by it, everything else is a blind spot anyway. Thanks again [Big Grin]
