I just picked one of these up for £10 at a boot sale, its in pretty good condition but lots of grime & dust.It works well apart from the heat shield which is supposed to swing out of the way when running and automaticaly swing into place when it has stopped, but it does not.Looking at how few posts there are on these projectors here they cant be very popular.Does anyone know how to adjust this heat shield?

The Singer Instaload is similar to the earlier models named Graflex. On this Forum under 16mm projector manuals there is the Graflex Instaload Series 2200 which may be similar. Perhaps this may help. http://www.film-tech.com/warehouse/index.php?category=2#16mm Projectors

Well i've ran around 20 films on it now with no problems at all, apart from the minor heat shield problem. Also i already have 3 elf projectors so i dont really need another but thanks for the offer.

Once had a hands-on on a Graflex Instaload (my friend's,not mine). Apart from flimsy-looking cable linked loading mechanics the rest seems and work OK to me. Not a too bad projector at all IMHO.

I've managed to sort out the heat shield problem with a small counter weight. Its now running perfect, not bad for £10.
