Rare - possibly. Recommended - No. Price - ridiculous.
Far better quality 16mm projectors available for less money.
Just my opinion but I bet I'm not alone 🤓

A bit over priced maybe but in lovely condition for its age etc.

Not a user machine as such really but very nice.

Never seen one before.

The Gem was introduced in February 1948 and was available in 8mm, 9.5mm and 16mm. The latter model was priced at £40.
Whilst the model shown is in very good condition the price of £275 is ridiculous.
