My friend Benoit Lestang has passed away two days ago. You probably don't know his name but you might have seen his work as he was among the leading make-up FX artist in the industry, working in France as well as abroad, rubbing shoulders with peers such as Sergio Stivaletti and Tom Savini.
Ben and I met more than 20 years ago, at the time, we were experimenting with super 8 cameras. We ended up working on the same FX crew on several features, shorts and commercials, as I was providing the mechanics behind his make-up effects. We shared the same passion for horror films, bad puns and horrendous pop songs.
Tonight's screening will be dedicated to his memory...

Jean-Marc,
Here's to Benoit. Another of those whose work must have been seen by many but known by few. I am sorry for your loss. I'll raise a glass for him tonight.
With respect, Claus.
