Tony Churcher has sadly passed away on October 3rd. He was perhaps best known for his regular column in Amateur Cine Enthusiast magazine. After the passing of that magazine, he went on to write regularly for Projections magazine. He could also be seen at Tadley where I believe he took the role of MC. I last spoke to him in August; he was all for D V D but his first love was film. He will sadly be missed. What are your memories?

Sorry to hear that Simon. I briefly met Tony at the Tadley Convention a couple of years ago, and as you say, he was the very enthusiastic M/C for that event. I wonder who Geoff will now get to fill that role.

How sad, a really nice chap. I spoke to him on the phone a few times a few years ago. Always an interesting and pleasant word. RIP. Best Mark.

He was a good bloke - even though he could make me sound like a Trappist monk! I did the Ten Best with him one year down at Joihn Shearsmith's place in Cornwall and we had a great time. He really will be missed.

Very sad news this. I always read his column in ACE first, such an enjoyable read. I also bought some films from him once and had some very plesent conversations on the phone. He was always pleased to speak to you and pass on any tips ect. about cine.

I never had the pleasure. Please extend my sympathy to his family. He was and always will be huge part of the film tapestry and I have great admiration for his excellent writing - Shorty

A sad thing to mark my first post to the 8mm Forum. Very sorry to hear this. I knew Tony from his Enterprises DVD reviews.
My sincere condolences to his friends and loved ones.
