Anyone own this on Super 8? (Dan, I think you picked up the '34 version recently.) If so, the 1934 version starring Leslie Howard and Merle Oberon (cut for Super 8 from about 5 reels to four) would likely be the one. I'd love to know anything about this - quality, entertainment value, editing losses, whatever.

Our personal favorite has probably never been released on Super 8. The 1982 made-for-TV movie, starring Anthony Andrews and Jane Seymour, transcends its lowly TV status. Anyone ever heard of this on film? Like an airline optical print (help, Osi!)?

I have a copy of THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL. It is complete at 95 minutes (5x400).If I am not wrong,it comes from Thunderbird. It is not the best print in the world, I'd say from average to good, and printed on color stock (a very slight sepia). No cuts. As for its entertainment value,well... it is one of the classics, with top actors, production values and action, and you will definitely like it, even if you are not a pro-royalist !!

Sorry Bill, I don't have any info on that specific title, but it is possible that it is on optical sound super 8, as "Izzy & Moe"
(Jackie Gleason/Art Carney) made it onto Super 8 optical, and that was a TV film.

Panayotis, thank you for the kindly suppplied information! That is quite helpful.

Osi, if you haven't heard of a Super 8 print of the TV Pimpernel, probably nobody has! Izzy & Moe was a couple of years later, so that's encouraging. However, I can't imagine that it's anything but an odd rarity -- not a lot of current TV made it to Super 8 for any reason, right? Anyway, thank you, friend.

Bill, I'll check my copy soon and let you know the quality. Like Panayotis' print it may be a Thunderbird too, but I will find out.
