I was wondering how popular "Mr Bean" is outside the UK?. When we ran the 35mm print years ago "Mr Bean's Holiday" it was a sellout right through the holidays compared to another Hollywood blockbuster we were running at the same time.

Mr Bean in many ways is like the silent era films, its all expression and situations he is put into with little dialogue.

Recently bought "Holiday Havoc with Mr Bean" compilation and would certainly recommend it.

On Super8 I have removed the intro from "Spirit Of America" of Mr Bean's do's and dont's of going to the cinema and place it on the start of Super8 film shows. Its very funny.

Anyway here are a couple of scenes from the feature.

I think this is great, where Willem Dafoe enters the projection box and says...."where is the projectionist".

I really like this part were Willen Dafoe gives the digital projector a swift kick.

When tou watch this movie you can see that serious actors like Willen Dafoe really are enjoying themselves.

The thing is Graham,I'm sure the people watching him are
convinced all Englishmen are like this.He actually went to a little
village school a couple of miles from my home at Whitehaven
at St. Bees,whose "under 14s" rugby team were all shaving.

Mr Bean (Rowan Atkins) is very popular in USA. His shows were on PBS TV for quite a while. Plus his films did well here. I think he is great. He was also in a James Bond film "Never Say Never Again" playing a agent celled "Small Faucet". He is one of a kind.

I felt that "Mr. Beans Holiday" was a much better film than "Bean", as I felt that they stayed more true to the Bean character. We have the "Bean" series on DVD and we never tire of it. I agree, Bean is certainly a throwback to the great silent comedians and I believe is a testament to the fact that you don't have to drop into the cess-pool in order to be funny, even in this day and age.

Rowan's humor is of the classical nature and it's no wonder that it's so good!

I have all the Bean material available on Blu-ray and DVD. My friends and I think he is hilarious. I enjoy the "Johnny English" films as well (sort of Mr Bean/Inspector Clouseau type of character).

Have any of you seen what I believe was called "The Thin Blue Line" a briiswh comedy starring Rowan Atkinson as well as a bevy of other highly talented british comedians! i is hilarious!

... and let us not forget the unforgettable "Black Adder"!
