Sadly Robin Gibb, founding member of the Bee Gees, has lost the battle with cancer and died today. His contribution to popular music has been immense, not only in his own band, but also in his writing for other musicians, giving them hit records. The Bee Gees sound gave us the Disco era and along with another great, Donna Summer, who sadly also left us, defined the disco sound and were synonymous with that time. Both of them will be greatly missed and I'm sure members of our Forum express deepest condolences to Barry and Ms Summers family

Like I've said Graham,I was never a fan of disco, but I know a good tune when I hear it,even though it wasn't exactly my kind of thing there's no denying they were a helluva group, and their legacy is a big one,as with the late Donna Summers, both had their own sound and a large hole has been left by their demise. It's like your topic "The Passing Years",It seems like only a couple of years ago but at that time "Star Wars"was a new film just released, time certainly does sneak away.
