Have been browsing past posts and noted tht a member was selling one of those Plastic Russian processing tanks. I have one of these for a number of years, takes 8,16, and 9.5mm. I wondered if anyone knows whether it is still possible to purchase the processing chemicals or kits to process the old E4 based colour stocks or the more modern E6 ones here in the U.K. I am well aware of our over the top "elf and safety regs" may have been the death of such things and also that we can still get our Fuji 9.5 stocks processed in France or by our old friend Roy Salmons, but it would be nice to be able to play around with some outdated stock that frequently turns up at collectors conventions. Being on a low income I used to use positive B&W stock for making titles and then dye it for inserting in colour film. Quite a number of amateur film makers used to process their own films to save costs. Ken Finch.

Hi Ken, I have a Lomo cine film developing tank and i have been attempting to process long out of date k40 super 8 film with.....coffee! Have managed to reveal a few frames but am still experimenting. You can develop, I understand the new kodak 100d with e6 processing but the old k40, well no one can process it in colour as its a 13 step process. If you dev your own cine film, lots of info on the net but Vision 2 home processing requires you to remove the ramjet backing by hand using soapy water.
If you have a lomo tank with a 15m capacity and you might sell it at a good price, I may be interested, cheers

Thanks Mark, Sorry for the belated reply, computer problems patly to blame. The old 9.5 colour film stock quite commonly found is 3M/Ferraniacolour MC5 which was developed and reversed using the E4 process which required exposing to light before using a finl developer. Is it possible to use the E6 processing kits to process this type of film and where are they obtainable from these days. Whenever I have asked in photoshops these days, I seem to be looked at with amused bewilderment!! Most other film stocks that appear are black and white at various ASA ratings. Ken Finch.
