I just finished watching "Hugo" and found they pronounced Georges Méliès with "S" was read strong. I always think an "S" on the last letter must always be read silent like when we read "Paris" [Pari].

So can you tell me if this should be read [Méliès] or [Méliè] and some explanation please.

thanks

...in French it's Melies because the name has an 'accent'-as the French call it-in the end. Simple as that; any french person around to confirm?
