I'm certainly not a prude when it comes to films and cussing and stuff in films. I hope I don't come off as such. I have a pretty tolerant nature with film, but I was gobsmacked and struck over the head by a film I couldn't even get four minutes into.

"Hell and Back"

It's a stop motion animated film, with the voice talents of Mila Kunis (That 70's Show ... "Jackie"), as well as Susan sarrandon and many others.

Now, usually, with a stop motion animated film, I think that it's something for the whole family, so I did a download of it and put it on. I had to ask my son to leave the room after a mere minute (or less) as every single line of dialogue was laced with terrible language and descriptions of nasty stuff and then, even after three more minutes with my wife and I attempting to watch it, I just had to stop it, because I was really appalled with the dialogue and things described.

Look, I know that not all stop motion films are designed for kids. I understand that, but I think that it's a darned shame when a film is so filthy that it causes the very film to not be a hit. I just think of how long it takes for folks to make a film like this, (most producers of animated films, whether hand-drawn or stop motion, will readily agree that it is far more time consuming and costly and risky to produce animation than live action), and to cause you're film to bomb, (well, I didn't even hear of this film even being advertised, and it just came out this last year), is just such a waste ...

So, if you hear of this film, please note that it's NOT a family film and be prepared to have a strong stomach for dialogue.

Well, it is rated "R" for pervasive strong crude and sexual content and language.

What do you expect with the title...Hell and Back? Sounds like you can get a clear picture of the films content from the rating without watching it.

ive always thought of films with this much foul language just clearly shows a total lack of skill from a script writer. What is the need for this much of it. Its the same for some of today's so called stand up comedians, they rely on it for laughs and it simply shows a lack of talent.

Gotta admit, I think I was naive on that one ...

I see stop motion and I assume it might be worth seeing. I'm just sad to see such artistry used on something so, well, not so nice. [Smile]

That does look fun, though I'm personally tiring of the whole CGI animated film. Of course, the kids don't mind.
