No, it wasn't 20 years ago today...... it was FIFTY years ago today Sgt.Pepper taught the band to play! Thursday 1st June 1967.
Album par excellence!
I have celebrated by a one off playing of my vinyl picture disc copy of this iconic album. How did you celebrate?

A most interesting album, though I have to honestly say that "magical Mystery Tour" is more re-playable (bear in mind, it's only my opinion). I thought "Sgt." was more like the White album, (each Beatle starting to go off in thier own direction) where "MMT" was more like "Rubber Soul" and "Revolver", more of a collaborative effort.
I think I'll watch those old rare videos from this album. There was some neat animated stuff of the album cover coming to life via stop motion animation that I always liked.

Surely it 70 years ago today he taught the band to play as they sang it was 20 years ago in 1967. :-)
I remember an advance copy was played by a pirate radio ship here possibly to cover the company or person that gave it to them they said it was by The "Be At Les".

David - .... and a fantastic mix the mono version is. I also have it and it varies slightly with the stereo version if you have ever compared them.
Osi - Your celluloid will be ok, so you can Let It Be. Just be careful with your floor coverings.... they make a loud noise on vinyl !!!!!

Melvin...For the sake of authenticity I even used my Quad 33 pre-amp and 303 power amp as it was contemporary with this album.
Shorty ... don't get to high or you may see Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.
