Sorry to hear that the wildlife painter,conservationist and railway preservationist David Shepherd has passed away age 86 and was the subject of (amongst others) the Walton 400' super 8 film "The Man Who Loved Elephants."

The steam train excursion I was on yesterday (with Clan Line) thoughtfully had a wreath to David on the front.
