Can anyone explain to me why using the microphone to talk to someone or to send these notes can be so freaking difficult they are about as worthless as ****.

Since we try to avoid profanity here, I've deleted a word in Chip's post.

I use the dictation feature on my phone often. You just have to check it before you hit send. Sometimes the term "film shoot" gets changed to feature the word I just deleted!
