Chaps, just checked my RM8008 as it's been stored for a few months. I noticed the audio wasn't working, but if I press down on the top of the head assembly and let go the audio works again. Guess the heads aren't contacting the stripe unless they're helped into position? Any idea what needs adjusting?

Hi Stuart

Could you provide us a closed picture (as possible) of the area sound "On" and Sound "Off" ?

Is there any extra noises in the loudspeakers ?

Phil

I assume this your machine:

These heads are the same as the gs 1200 I believe and they have spring loaded head pressers, just check they are coming down fully to make contact with the film surface, and remember this has more than one position to drive the film forward, drive on this is a capstan, same as a cassette tape player.
