Sorry to ask again of an old topic, but can anyone advise of a good repairer as close as poss to West Mids(U.K.)for Elmo 1200 Mag/Opt,and a rough idea on costs these days.Running very slow ,after standing a couple of years unused,or is it cheaper to use for spares...Regards Mike

Michael please see my earlier post to Kevin, also in the midlands like yourself. Having said all of that, a ST1200 can probably be replaced for less than the price of the courier each way plus the repair bill. It all depends on whether you feel you have a really good example of the model or not I guess.

Hello Michael, Perhaps I can help you, I live very close to you. If you have no mechanical knowledge at all, I can have a look for you. It may be something simple.

We are running two threads on the same problem?

-by the same token: That's the spirit, Paul!

Paul's a great guy, if I was in Michael's position, I'd jump at this generous offer. [Smile]

I have a 1200, given to me by derann, many moons ago, non working, but maybe there's something on there that could be transferred, he's just few miles from me, I carn't see a reason why I wouldn't help a fellow member, regardless of how near or far he is, that's what the forum is for. You many miles from us Steve, but your only a couple of clicks away, Andrews a lot closer, but the same applies, he knows that.

Three threads about the same subject is a bit too much. For continuity's sake this will continue here..
