  • Wanted copies of nine five news service journals

Hello All. Not sure if you have noticed but I have been trying to put up downloadable versions of many of the books and journals that covered 9.5mm films over the years on the web site. This includes the Group 9.5 magazine, most of the self published books like the original encyclopedia, Maurice Trace's guides, etc.

But I am also looking for some help

1 - Were there more than the 7 issues of Photoclub Ninefive? and if so does anyone have the issues so I can scan them
2 - Were there additional years (besides 1966) of ACO & Film News Manual by John Garnett Jones and again can I borrow to scan
3 - Does anyone have any of the missing issues of Nine Five News Service journals. We only have the following in the archive after combining my copies with the couple that Grahame had and a couple I borrowed and scanned from Maurice Trace.

    VOL 2 N 10 (1968)

    VOL 4 N 7 , 8 , 9 (1972)

    VOL 5 N 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 6 , 7 ,8 , 9 ,10 (1973)

4 - and finally I had a near complete run of Amateur Cine World that I have sent to the University of Wisconsin who are in charge of the Media History Digital Library who will be scanning them in the next six months and adding them to the online Library. For The record I was missing the following issues

April and May 1940 , and Feb 16, 1961 - If anyone has them and would be willing to either sell them to me or let me borrow them long term (as it takes them a while to scan things) then there would be no holes in what will be available to everyone online.

Also if anyone has any books I have left out on the site please let me know, and thanks

Hi Dino, Although I have copies of many of the books listed, unfortunately not the ones you require. I did have all issues of ACO and film but disposed of them at a Get Together some years ago. For memory, they were not published for very long. I still have the books published by Gerald McKee, a great friend of mine, and so knowledgeable on film collecting and narrow gauge film history.

Ken thanks for checking, and yes Gerald was one of the greats (like yourself) I just uploaded THE HOME CINEMA for download and will upload fifty years of collecting sometime soon.-
If you are willing would love to have you write a history of the Group 9.5 film library to put up on the site......

Hi Dino, I am willing to write about the Group 9.5 film library history but will have to go through my collection of the group magazines to check out some of the details. It was one of those ideas that seemed a good idea at the time but did get support from the membership.
