  • Pathe Son 9.5 mm Tune Up

    Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. I have a Pate Son that has not been used in years and is in need of a tune up. I'd really like to replace the power cord before trying to power it on again. Before doing any work on it, I wanted to know if any schematics are available for this projector. The majority of what I know about this projector is from reading previous posts on this forum, and I'd like to get more acquainted with the unit. I would greatly appreciate any advice on where I can find more documentation on this unit.

Also, I have question about the belt. It looks like the original belt is made out of a metallic material (don't know the exact term for it) which has worn out. I did see some replacement belts on eBay made out of neoprene. Does anyone have experience with these and how may would I need? I ask because they look small in diameter when compared to the original belt.

    Thank you.

Hi Robert, interesting that a Pathescope Son machine found its way to the U S. Frankly ,it was a nightmare from the start as you may have discovered from previous posts. If you really want the schematic diagram of the amplifier there is one on the late Martyn Stevens website. Cinerdistan.com. It is still accessible I have just checked. It is in the 9.5 sound projector section. Pathescope did make some minor modifications but it still had a poor reputation for film damage and breakdowns. Best of luck!!
