The lettering "PB-Ex." on the projector might indicate "Pathe Baby Export", i.e. a model produced for outside France, maybe slightly better or sturdier?
The EX is just part of the model number. There were a number of modifications over the years the Pathe Baby was produced. Gerald Mckees book The Home Cinema, classic movie projectors 1922 1940 gives details including a chart showing the modifications.
